Project and Job Costing

Unlimited Jobs, Cost centers, Projects and Cost Groups. Job Costing supports Estimated and Actual for Costs and Revenues for any number of Cost centers per Job. Projects can summarize any number of Jobs. Cost Groups can summarize any number of Cost centers.

Integration with Chart of Accounts. AdaptAccounts 2000 Job Costing extends the General Ledger Chart of Accounts. General Ledger Accounts support Job and Cost center segments when Job Costing is installed. This means that any transaction that affects the General Ledger can also affect Job Costing. For example, this means that any General Journal Entry can also affect Job Costing.

Integration with Purchase Orders. Each Purchase Order line item can specify the particular Job and Cost center as segments of the Expense Account. This information is preserved in Purchase Order Receipts and provided to Accounts Payable. The Payables Journal Entries for these transactions subsequently flow into General Ledger and are reflected in Job Cost summaries.

Integration with Accounts Payable. In addition to transactions originating in Purchase Orders, all other Payables transactions (including Recurring and Imported transactions) can affect Job Costing. Each General Ledger distribution line item can specify the particular Job and Cost center as segments of the Account. Journal Entries for these transactions subsequently flow into General Ledger and are reflected in Job Cost summaries.

Integration with Sales Orders. Each Sales Order line item can specify the particular Job as a segment of the Revenue Account. This information flows into Receivables during Sales Invoicing. Journal Entries for these transactions subsequently flow into General Ledger and are reflected in Job Cost summaries.

Integration with Accounts Receivable. In addition to transactions originating in Sales Orders, all other Receivables transactions (including Recurring and Imported transactions) can affect Job Costing. Each General Ledger distribution line item can specify the particular Job as a segment of the Revenue Account. Journal Entries for these transactions subsequently flow into General Ledger and are reflected in Job Cost summaries.

Integration with Payroll. Payroll time entries specify the particular Job and Cost center as segments of the Expense Account. After Payroll Check processing has occurred the hours information is preserved in Payroll and is reflected in Job Cost summaries.

Complete audit trail. All transactions are fully cross-referenced so you can easily examine the details affecting any Job and Cost center.

Powerful reporting. A variety of comparative reports of Actual to Estimate by Cost center or Cost Group, by Job or Project for All or Selected Jobs, Cost centers, Cost Groups or Projects are built-in.

Easy report changes. All reports are based on a visual report designer so they can be readily changed.
