Integration with Sales

The Sales application has two kinds of transactions that affect Inventory summaries - Sales Orders and Sales Invoices.

Sales Quotations do not affect Inventory summaries.

Sales Order transactions affect OnHand Available Quantity and Sales BackOrder Quantity.

Typical Sales Orders (i.e. those without any product returns) reduce OnHand Available Quantity (for allocated items) and increase Sales BackOrder Quantity (for items not allocated). A product return item does the opposite.

Sales Order transactions are maintained in the Sales Order transaction tables.

Sales Invoice transactions affect OnHand Quantity. Typical Sales Invoices (i.e. those without any product returns) are Issues and reduce OnHand Quantity. A product return item does the opposite.

Sales Invoice transactions are maintained in the SalesInvoice tables.

Integration with Purchasing

The Purchasing application has two kinds of transactions that affect Inventory summaries - Purchase Orders and Purchase Order Receipts.

Purchasing Requests for Quotation do not affect Inventory summaries.

Purchase Order transactions increase Purchase OnOrder Quantity.

Purchase Order Receipt transactions reduce Purchase OnOrder Quantity and increase OnHand Quantity.

Purchase Order transactions are maintained in the Purchase Order transaction tables.

Purchase Order Receipt transactions are maintained in the Purchase Order Receipt tables.
