UserID

A small number that uniquely identifies each User. UserIDs start at 1 for the System Administrator and range upwards.

UserName

This is the UserName as returned by the network. AdaptAccounts User Login tries to match the UserName returned by the network with a UserName here. If there is no match then the User Login process will fail.

AdaptAccounts sets up the System Administrator as a User when it is first installed. The System Administrator has a UserID of 1.

NoteButton Before logging into AdaptAccounts for the first time, please use SQL Server Management Studio or equivalent to specify the UserName for the AdaptAccounts System Administrator in the AaUserName field of the first record in the AaUserLogin table in the main Company database.

Active

Indicates whether this User is active and can Login into AdaptAccounts.
Checked means this User is allowed to Login.
Unchecked means this User is not allowed to Login.

Logged on

Indicates whether this user is currently logged on to the system.
Checked means this User is currently logged on.
Unchecked means this User is not currently logged on.

Applications description

This shows the Applications installed and their Groups.
Each checkbox shows the access rights for this User.
Checked means this User can access all tasks in this Group for this Application.
Unchecked means this User cannot access any tasks in this Group for this Application.
If all Groups for an Application are unchecked then this User will not see this Application on their Applications menu.

As System Administrator you have all rights to all Applications and Groups and you cannot (accidentally) remove those rights.

Options menu

Options | Set to Logged Off

Use this option to Log Off a User who may have been logged on when their session was interrupted (when the system indicates that User is still logged on but they really aren’t). Since a User cannot Login again if they are already logged on, this option is provided so you can enable that User to Login to the system.

Options | Grant All Rights

Use this option to Grant a User rights to all tasks.

Options | Remove All Rights

Use this option to Remove a User’s rights to all tasks.

Adding a New User

When you Insert a new User the system assigns a UserID.

Here’s what you do...

Specify their UserName
Check the Applications and Groups to which they have access
Ensure their Active box is checked appropriately
Specify their Passwords as applicable
